HYDROTHERAPY

Enhancing Physical, Emotional and Mental Well-being for Individuals with Disabilities

Hydrotherapy is a form of therapy that utilises water for its therapeutic properties. Hydrotherapy can be performed as a group or as an individual session and it can also be integrated with other rehabilitation techniques such as physiotherapy and occupational therapy. It can help increase an individual’s physical and mental well-being, allowing them to participate in activities they may have previously found challenging. Hydrotherapy can be beneficial for a wide range of conditions, including arthritis, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis and spinal cord injuries.

Enhancing Flexibility, Mobility and Strength through Hydrotherapy Sessions

Hydrotherapy sessions involve a range of exercises and movements designed to improve flexibility, mobility and strength. The combination of water resistance and buoyancy helps to support the body and reduce the impact of exercise on the joints. Hydrotherapy sessions can include exercises such as walking, swimming and stretching. The water level can also be altered to provide additional resistance, which can be beneficial for building muscle strength.
