For Children
We assess the readiness of teenagers and young adults with developmental or physical challenges to learn to drive. This helps in developing pre-driver training programs to enhance the necessary skills for driving.
For children with physical disabilities we evaluate their need for adaptive driving equipment and recommend modifications that make driving achievable and safe.
We assess children’s sensory processing and behavioural responses to determine their ability to handle the demands of driving, providing strategies to improve their focus and reaction to driving stimuli.
For Adults
We conduct assessments for adults who have experienced medical conditions or injuries that may impact their driving abilities. This includes evaluating the effects of conditions like stroke, traumatic brain injury or degenerative diseases on driving skills.
Our assessments help older adults and their families make informed decisions about driving safety, providing recommendations to enhance driving skills or alternative transportation options if necessary.
For individuals recovering from injuries or surgeries, we assess their ability to resume driving safely, recommending rehabilitation programs or adaptive equipment to support their return to driving.
A driving assessment involves a comprehensive evaluation of:
- Physical Abilities: Reaction time, strength, coordination and flexibility.
- Cognitive Abilities: Attention, memory, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Visual Abilities: Visual acuity, depth perception and peripheral vision.
- Driving Skills: Ability to operate a vehicle safely under various conditions, follow traffic rules and respond to different driving scenarios.
